Homemade Viet Cong pistol

Crude 9-mm single-shot pistols like this one were used by Viet Cong troops for defence inside tunnel complexes.

This pistol was presented to Major Barrie Ward Brighouse, New Zealand Army Detachment Vietnam (NEWZAD), by South Vietnamese Sub-General Tran Than Phong, 1st Infantry Division, 32 Division Tactical Area (DTA).
