Kaiparoro memorial bridge c. 1985. In 2010 the bridge was made a Category 1 listed structure by the New Zealand Historic Places Trust.

More information about the Kaiparoro bridge

The bridge was designed and its construction supervised by the distinguished civil engineer, Alfred Falkner, whose accomplishments also include designing the Hurunui bridge and planning the route of the Wellington to Manawatū Railway. The stone used in its construction came from the Makakahi River.

The bridge has been somewhat restored, and rededicated on April 6 2006. It is well-signposted (as 'ANZAC bridge'), with information signs at the nearby reserve. There are 6 WWI and 3 WWII names on the plaque. I have photos from 27/5/08.
