Alexandrina Macrae was born about 1843 in Scotland.

She emigrated to New Zealand, and married John Inglis on August 14th 1885 in Dunedin.

When she signed the suffrage petition they were living in Waikouaiti, north of Dunedin.

John died in 1925, and Alexandrina died at Ross Home, Dunedin on May 30th 1935. They are buried together in the Waikouaiti Cemetery.

Alexandrina’s obituary said “although of a retiring nature, Mrs Inglis took a keen interest in the Presbyterian Church at Waikouaiti”.
