Ann Alice Bertha Vernon was born Ann Alice Bertha Turner to Thomas and Mary Anne Turner formerly Watts nee Restieaux on 12 January 1863 in Christchurch, New Zealand.

In 1882 Annie gave birth to a daughter, Mary Ann Elizabeth Alice Turner.

In 1892 Ann Alice Turner married Henry George Vernon in Waimate, New Zealand.

Annie and Henry had eight children; John Samuel Frederick Vernon born 1892, Henry William George Vernon born 1894, Augustas Albert Vernon born 1896, Maud Elizabeth Fairy Vernon born 1898, Alice Bertha Restieaux Vernon born 1900, Rosalina Mary Vasey Vernon born 1901, Frederick Mason Vernon born 1903 and Annie Evelyne Victoria Vernon born 1905.

Annie Vernon signed the 1892 Suffrage Petition Roll, Sheet 221.

The Caversham Project database records Ann was living in 1919 at 93 Macandrew Road [Henry was living at 98 Macandrew Road], South Dunedin, in 1922 living at 466 Cargill Road, Caversham, in 1925 at 482 Cargill Road, Caversham and in 1928 they were living at 534 Anderson’s Bay Road, Dunedin.  Henry was a Corporation Employee.

On 15 March 1939 Annie Alice Bertha Restieaux Vernon died age 76 years in Dunedin.  At the time of her death, she was living at 534 Anderson’s Bay Road, Dunedin.  She is buried in Anderson’s Bay cemetery, Dunedin, Block 50, Plot 45.

Henry George Vernon died on 30 June 1949 age 87 years and is interred in the Karori cemetery Plot CH ENG 2/0/946.  His occupation was Ganger.  His last place of residence was 6 Murphy street, Wellington.
