Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley
Anne/Ann Sangster Todd was born in 1858 in East Taieri – the daughter of Charles Todd, a storekeeper, and Margaret Shand. (See 136 Margaret A Todd)
She married Robert Hogg Clapperton, a contractor, on 25 December 1888 in the Owaka parish and they had five children.
When Anne signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Tahatika, a settlement near Owaka.
Robert died at their home in the Owaka Valley in 1938, he is buried in the Owaka Cemetery.
Anne died in 1953, at the age of 97, she is presumably buried with Robert.
