Died 19 July 1912, aged 70 at Hopelands. Was the wife of Thomas Martin. 

'She was born at Roscrea, Templemore Co, Tipperary, Ireland and came New Zealand with her parents Mr and Mrs James Maher, and they settled in the Marlborough district. Mr and Mrs Martin married at St Mary of the Angels Church in Boulcot St, Wellington 45 years ago. They came to Woodville 40 years ago and to farm at Hopelands. She was of a very gentle and kindly disposition. There are two sons P J and J T at Hopelands and Mess Mary Martin (Sydney), Mrs George Sargeant (Matamau), Mrs James O’Niel (Hopelands) and Mrs W H Love (PiriPiri), also six grandchildren. The service was held at the St Columbkills church.'
