Charlotte Jane Hair (aka Hare) was born on 10 February 1867, Waikuku, Canterbury, to William James Hair and Caroline Orchard.
In 1884 Charlotte married George Bean and had seven children; George James born 1886; Adelaide Maude born 1887; Catherine born 1890; Richard born 1892; Charlotte Elizabeth born 1894; Sydney Robert born 1897 and Jessie Lilia born 1899.
George Bean was an Engineer and lived in Hook. The 1896 electoral roll for Waitaki, Otago, has them living in Waimate.
George Bean died on 14 October 1902 aged 52 years.
Charlotte remarried to George Cursley in 1904.
The 1904 electoral roll shows Charlotte Cursley living in Manse Street, Waimate and George Cursley at Studholme. He was a Farmer.
In 1938 Charlotte was living in Naylor Street, Waimate.
George Cursley died 26 January 1936 aged 81 years and is buried in the Waimate Old cemetery – Roman Catholic section. Charlotte died on 10 November 1950 aged 84 years and is buried in the Waimate Old cemetery – Anglican section, Plot 0015AN000032
