Elizabeth Ann Brett was born about 1830 in England.
She married John Kirby, a baker, in 1862. They had two children, one who appears to have died in infancy.
The family came to New Zealand. When Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Waikouaiti and John was working as a cab proprietor.
John died in 1904 and Elizabeth died at her home on March 19th 1910. They are buried with their daughter in the St John’s Anglican Cemetery, Waikouaiti.
