Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Eliza was born about 1837 in Scotland.

She had a daughter with Alexander Frederick Moore in 1876 but Alexander appears to have been married in 1866 and his wife might have still been alive.

Alexander died in 1887 and when Eliza signed the suffrage petition she was living in Walker St, Dunedin.

She ran a business producing knitted goods and frequently advertised in the newspaper for machinists for the 'Lamb’s Knitting Machine'.

She died on 3 February 1915 and is buried with Alexander in the Southern Cemetery.
