Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley.

Elizabeth Matilda Walker was born about 1867, possibly in New Zealand.

She appears to have been a foster daughter of Ann Fitzsimons & was mentioned in the newspaper in 1882.

See 162 Ann Fitzsimons

Elizabeth married Robert Stewart, an engineer, on October 14th 1885 in Dunedin.

Early in 1891 the Kakanui on which Robert was serving as an engineer was wrecked during a gale off Macquarrie Island, south of New Zealand – there were no survivors.

Elizabeth re-married in 1894 to Sydney Earland, a clerk & stationer - they had 4 children.

She died at her home on April 6th 1934 & Sydney died in 1953, they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
