Ellen Connors was born about 1846.
She married John Crawford, a farmer, in New Zealand in 1877 and they had five children, one who died in infancy.
When Ellen signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Enfield in North Otago.
John died in 1926 and Ellen died in Dunedin on 6 May 1941 – they are buried in the Old Oamaru Cemetery.
