Emily Georgina Chapman was born in 1866 in Hertfordshire, England – the daughter of George Chapman, a gardener, and Sarah Smith.
Emily arrived in Otago with her family in 1874 on the Buckinghamshire.
Emily married George Thomas Pitcher, a bootmaker, in 1893. They had four children.
George died in 1928 and Emily died on 25 January 1937. They are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
