Emma Henderson Fraser was born about 1871 in New Zealand – the daughter of Alexander Fraser, a bushman and farmer, and Esther Ludlow. (See 136 Esther Fraser)
When Emma signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Owaka.
She married Robert Paterson on 13 January 1897 and they had three sons.
Robert appears to have died in 1906 and Emma had a further two children, one who died in infancy.
Emma died in Balclutha on 26 September 1950, she is buried in the Owaka Cemetery.
