Esther M. Walker

Esther Mary Walker died in a car accident on Remutaka Hill on 6 January 1929, aged 56  (or possibly 59)  years. Her parents were Enoch and Jane Walker.

The car was being driven by her brother, Mr T.H Walker, of Hawera, when it crashed over a bank. He had picked up his sister at Woodville and it was the first day of their holiday tour.

She was well-known in Hawera, where she was a dressmaker before setting up her own business in Woodville several years before her death.
