Florence Louise Lingham was born in 1851 in Melbourne, Australia, the daughter of Henry Lingham and Mary Westall.
She married Frederick William Reynolds Anderson, a solicitor and “seventh son of the late Sir George William Anderson, K.C.B., former Governor of the Mauritius and Ceylon” on September 30th 1873 at St Peter’s Church, East Melbourne.
They sailed for Otago and had three children. When Florence signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Ross St, Roslyn in Dunedin.
A short time later they moved back to Victoria where Frederick started farming.
In 1896 he died after a drunken argument with a business partner.
Florence died in Victoria in 1939 at the age of 91.
