Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley
Not much is known about Grace McLean, when she signed the suffrage petition she was working as a school teacher at the Owaka school.
She was later appointed to the position of head teacher and, in 1901, she resigned from her position.
She appears on the 1911 electoral roll in Owaka – whether she married or moved away from the district is unclear.
