Isabel J Strong was born Isabel Josephine Strong in 1869 in Middlesex, England to George and Christina Strong.
The England 1871 census records George age 41 years, Christina age 40 years, and children Benjamin Strong age 11; Helen C Strong (Lyall) age 7 and Isabel J Strong age 2 years living in the Onslow Dwellings, St Luke Chelsea, Middlesex.
The Strong family George, Christina and children Helen C Strong age 16 years, domestic servant; Isabel J Strong 11 years; and Theophilus Strong age 8 years left London in 1879 on the ship “Westland”, arriving in Canterbury on 21 February 1880. In the remarks column of the shipping register it notes Timaru. George’s occupation was Compositor.
Isobel was a Public Librarian in Waimate.
Isabel Strong died in 1938 age 69 years and is buried next to her parents George and Christina Strong in the Waimate Old cemetery, Presbyterian section, Plot 000238.
Her Mother Christina G Strong also signed the Petition.
