Jane Donald Smalley (1852-1943). Wife of Wesleyan Minister Rev Joseph Smoult Smalley (1845-1921) who was stationed at Waimate Wesleyan Church (St Pauls). Jane Smalley presented an address to the Waimate Debating club in 1892 in support of women’s franchise. Jane was a lay preacher within the Wesleyan Church.
