Jane Robertson was born on 25 June 1862 in Corstorphine, Edinburgh, Scotland – the daughter of John Robertson, a joiner, and Barbara Brown. (See 62 Mrs Robertson)
The family emigrated to Otago in 1880 on the Canterbury and settled in Dunedin.
When Jane signed the suffrage petition she was living with her widowed mother and some of her siblings in Waverley St working as a waitress.
She does not appear to have married and her date and place of death are unknown.
