Frances/Fanny Lavenia Howard was born about 1871.

She married James William Pritchard Wardle, a carpenter, in 1890 and when Lavenia signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Ngapara in North Otago.

They had seven children, two who died in infancy.

Lavenia died on 13 December 1918 in Oamaru and James died in 1925, they are buried together in the Old Oamaru Cemetery.
