Margaret Crawford Dewar was born in 1871 in New Zealand – the daughter of David Dewar, a farmer, and Jane Marshall. (See 137 Jane Dewar)
Margaret signed the suffrage petition at the family farm in Ratanui, south of Owaka although she is shown on the 1893 electoral rolls as living in High St, Dunedin.
She married Daniel Harland, a farmer, in 1894 and they had two children.
Daniel died at Pukerau in 1934 and Margaret died on 18 October 1952, they are buried together in the Gore Cemetery.
