Margaret Ferguson Forbes was born in 1868 in New Zealand – the daughter of Robert Forbes and Barbara Lewis.
When she signed the suffrage petition Margaret was living on the family farm at Sandymount on the Otago Peninsula.
She did not marry and she died on 29 May 1956. She is buried in the family grave in the Portobello Cemetery.
