Mary Ann Blanchard died at New Plymouth 11 November 1920. She was born at Holton Le Clay in Lincolnshire as was her daughter, Clara.  She had lived over thirty years on Pinfold Road, Woodville.

Her husband, Seth Blanchard, had died 4 July 1916, he was born in  1852 at East Halton in the county of Lincolnshire.

Report of his death from the Woodville Examiner:

At his house on Pinfold Road, after a long and painful illness borne with Christian fortitude, Mr Seth Blanchard an old and respected pioneer resident of the district, passed away on Wednesday morning past. Mr Blanchard has farmed in the vicinity of Upper Pinfold Road for thirty years and had been connected since its establishment with the Woodville Methodist Church. He leaves a widow and a family of five — two sons, Messrs Walter and Arthur Blanchard, who are farming in Taranaki, and three daughters at home. Mr Blanchard’s death was not unexpected but he leaves a blank in a large circle of friends and relatives.
