Biographical information provided by Briar Barry for the He Tohu exhibition:

Robina Boyer was born in 1870. She married John Handel Timmings of Dunedin in 1892, probably shortly before signing the Petition. They had four children, one of whom had a Māori middle name, William Huia Timmings. However I do not believe the family had Māori ancestry. Robina and John moved from Dunedin to Alexandra, where they are both buried.
