Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Angelina Pauline Marie Durreen/Annie was born about 1866 in New Zealand – the daughter of Peter Durreen, a farmer, and Paulina Theodora Adelgard Leight. (See 130 Pelina Dorreen)

She married Archibald McDonald, a grocer’s assistant, on 20 January 1891 in Dunedin.

They had three children and when Angelina signed the suffrage petition they were living in Walker St, Dunedin.

Archibald died in Milburn, South Otago in 1900 and Angelina moved back to Dunedin with the children.

She re-married in 1919 to Henry Dorreen, a farmer and widower - they lived in Palmerston North.

Henry died in 1938, he is buried in the Waipawa Cemetery.

Angelina died on 14 July 1947 in Palmerston North, she is buried in the Kelvin Grove Cemetery.
