Janet Black was born in 1862 in New Zealand, the daughter of John Black and Mary Russell.

She married William George Pullar, a labourer, on January 26th 1887 in the Palmerston parish, and they had 5 children.

Janet signed the suffrage petition in Palmerston.

William died in Dunedin in 1929 and Janet also died in Dunedin on September 10th 1945. They are buried in the Palmerston Cemetery.
