Nicholine Loper was born Nicholine Richmond on 6 September 1870 at Berwick, Otago to Elizabeth Dunn Shaw.

Nicholine and George had eight children; Elizabeth Annie Loper born 1889, Thomas George Loper born 1891, Malcolm Joseph Loper born 1893, Robert Samuel Loper born 1894, Melville Claude Loper born 1899, Evelyn Isabel Loper born 1902, Hector Francis Loper born 1907 and William Charles Eric born in 1909.
The Waitaki electoral rolls for 1896, 1911, 1914 and 1919 record George and Nicholine living in Maud Street, Waimate. George’s occupation is shearer.
The Waitaki electoral rolls for 1928 and 1935 record them living at Point Bush Road, Waimate. George is a Farmer.

Nicholine Loper died on 21 June 1943 age 72 years and is buried in the Waimate Cemetery, Old Anglican section, Plot 000229
