Rebecca Anderson was born in 1872 in Dunedin – the daughter of James Anderson, a baker, and Jeannie Brown. (See 79 J Anderson)
When Rebecca signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in William St, Dunedin working as a hatteress.
She married James Garside, a brass founder, on 26 August 1896 and they had four children.
James died in 1943 and Rebecca died on 7 January 1952, they are buried in the family grave in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
