Rachel Annie Trigg was the daughter of John Trigg.
She married Henry Dent, a coachmaker and widower with two children, on 8 January 1876. The marriage took place at All Saints Mile End, Stepney, London. The couple had a daughter in London before the family boarded the Auckland in 1878, bound for Otago.
Three more children were added to the family after their arrival, one dying in infancy.
When Rachel signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family at Richardson St, St Kilda, Dunedin.
After Henry's death in 1900, Rachel disappears from the historical record. Her date and place of death are unknown.
