Robina Williamson was born on May 15th 1861 in Walls and Sandness, Shetland, the daughter of Gideon Williamson, a farmer, and Catherine Jamieson.
Robina emigrated to Otago in 1874 on the Nelson with her family.
They settled in Waikouaiti where Robina married William Ward on March 15th 1877. They had eight children.
Robina signed the suffrage petition in Waikouaiti. In the early 1900s they moved to Edendale in Southland.
William died in Dunedin in 1931. Robina also died in Dunedin, on May 30th 1949.
They are buried together in the St John’s Anglican Cemetery, Waikouaiti.
