King Dick the peacemaker cannon, 1902

King Dick the peacemaker cannon, 1902

Soldiers alongside a mock cannon, painted upon which are the words "'King Dick' The Peacemaker". Photograph taken in 1902 during peace celebrations in Nelson following the South African War.

The role of Prime Minister 'King Dick' Seddon in the war can hardly be described as that of a peacemaker.
