This 1915 troopship menu was printed on a pre-war Union Company card. This menu was almost certainly for the ship's officers and NZEF officers travelling on the ship. In their diaries and letters, enlisted men sailing aboard troopships frequently complained about the difference in quality and quantity between the officers' meals and their own. Merchant seafarers also often complained about the food they were served at sea.
