    Charles Upham is probably New Zealand's most famous soldier. His actions in Crete in 1941 and Egypt in 1942 led to his becoming one of only three people – and the only combat soldier – ever to win the Victoria Cross twice.

1983 Prince William meets 'buzzy bee'

The Prince and Princess of Wales played with their infant son Prince William and New Zealand’s iconic children’s toy, the ‘buzzy bee’, on the lawn at Government House, Auckland. It was one of many photo opportunities the Prince and Princess of Wales undertook during their royal tour of New Zealand between 17 and 30 April 1983.
